FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF A CHILD
By: Theresa Bunner
I was born in Sarepta and was in first grade there (way back in 1935
when my parents announced during the Christmas holidays that we were
moving to Minden. Actually, we were moving to a rented house about
three miles north of Minden on the Lewisville Road.
Upon arriving, we children began exploring our new surroundings,
including the corn crib. My four year-old sister, Shirley, looked around
at the corn cobs and corn shucks left by the previous tenants, and asked
Mother, "Is this Minden?"
Mother replied yes, and Shirley remarked, "I didn't know Minden did
look so bad."
Does anyone have any pictures of the first grade class of 1935
