A “Minden Memories” group got together in Minden this past weekend
(Friday-Saturday). The group represented classes/alumni spanning over 50 years
from Minden. One of the activities was a tour of the Shady Grove Cemetery, north
of Minden on Benson Road. L. B. Grigsby lead the tour, which focused on the
graves of the Reeves family that was murdered in 1916. The family is the subject
of a book by Marilyn Miller titled “Sons of Darkness, Sons of Light.” Many of
the old families of Grove, who were mentioned in the book, are buried at Shady
Grove.
