I purchased the arrow head collection from a man that lives near Camp Harris.  He told me that his grandfather first got the land many years ago.  There was a spring on the land that he enlarged to make a better pool for the cattle and horses to drink from.  As he was digging it out he noticed the arrowheads started showing up in the sand that was removed.   There were 250 pieces that came out of the spring.  This must have been a working area where the men would sit at the spring and flint nap.  When one wasn't good enough to take with them it would go into the spring.  Many were not perfect but some must have been placed there as a cache.  In there is quite a range of ages.  Many spear points came from hunting large game.  As big game was killed off they had to find smaller game so they made smaller points.  Some of the small points are for the children to play with also.  I had someone give me the broken pottery 20 years ago and don't remember his name now.  It has some very interesting texture on the surface and the inside is colored black, probably iron from around here.  Thanks for the interest.  I have seen many shapes, some for carving a knife blade and two tools that have a ground down edge.  There is also one crystal from Arkansas .
