Funeral services for Mr. William Hugh “Buddy” Dixon, Jr., 73, will be held at 2
p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with Pastor
David Divelbiss officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery
in Minden.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today, October 17 at
Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Mr. Dixon was born Sept. 8, 1935, in Texas. He entered into rest Oct. 15, 2008,
in Bossier City.
He was a member of the Living Word Worship Center. Mr. Dixon had 28 and a half
years in military service, receiving the Bronze Star Medal, AF Commendation
Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Good Conduct Medal, Marine Corps Good
Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, AF
Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and
Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Sr. and Ethel Dixon;
stepmother, Lillian Dixon; daughter, Sheila Jo Gunnels; and half-brother John T.
Dixon.
He is survived by his wife, Earlene Dixon of Minden; son, William H. Dixon III
of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Danielle Brogan and husband Rusty of Yucca Valley,
Calif.; stepdaughter, Ginger Bradford and husband Leon of Hemphill, Texas;
brother, Alfred W. Sanders of Minden; grandsons, Thurston Brogan of Yucca
Valley, Evan Bradford of Hemphill and David Crooks of Midland, Texas;
granddaughters, Victoria and Audrey Bradford of Hemphill and Ashlynn Brossette
of Pineville; nephew, Guy Sanders and wife Renee of Minden; and a host of
friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be members of the military.
